It may be possible to engage with the following outcome through this area of study:

4) Critically reflect on and analyse the spirituality of biblical women in the Jewish and Christian traditions, and of Muslim women.

Approaches to Learning

The approaches suggested below indicate a range of strategies that may be undertaken to allow students to engage with the requirements of this part of the syllabus. Teachers may wish to use one or more of these approaches in addressing this area of study. The suggestions are intended as a guide only and are not exhaustive.

  • Research the culture and lifestyle of seventh century Arabic communities
  • Design maps and posters identifying the location of significant locations for the development of Islam
  • Research the history of the Ka'bah
  • View a documentary program showing the aspects of the terrain of the Arabian peninsular and/or the life style of tribes people from the region such as the Bedouin
