Approaches to Learning
The approaches suggested below indicate a range of strategies that may be undertaken to allow students to engage with the requirements of this part of the syllabus. Teachers may wish to use one or more of these approaches in addressing this area of study. The suggestions are intended as a guide only and are not exhaustive.
- Use a brainstorming process to develop a list of significant events from the life of the Prophet Muhammad which can be used as an example for Muslims today
- Use a writing task to compile paragraphs which identify and explain the significance of principal events in the life of the Prophet Muhammad.
- Prepare a dramatisation of a selected story from the life of the Prophet Muhammad
- Develop a mind map which shows the links between the life of the Prophet Muhammad and the type of response to the call of Allah expected of all Muslims
